sea monkeys

i have sea monkeys living in my pool. i've never told anyone that before. Divulging such a secret could hardly be considered on the topic of this blog, and yet it is more relevant than i could have first imagined. do you know that sea monkeys don't roam? they ballet. i now have a pool full of sea monkeys, who ballet through their life. theirs is a short existence, but it isn't sad. they live. they make the most of their situation – though one could hardly say being stuck in my backyard pool is a recipe for a charmed life – they ballet, they dance.
most of us can't be like the sea monkeys. we can do so much more. maybe a bit less ballet, and a bit more roaming. nothing makes me feel more alive than waking up, walking around and smelling a place that is unfamiliar, unexplored. step outside your square, off the pavement and into shoes that are going somewhere unexpected. you may have done this before, but it doesn't matter, it will be different every time. go wandering.
